The boundaries between inquiry and practice blur when the practitioner is a researcher and a knower and when the professional context is a site for the study of problems of practice. They recognise the importance of critical appraisal in relation to their own work, and accept that it will increase the robustness of their research, as well as reducing the potential for problems.
